Press release
Naris and Sensus process management join forces to build the next generation of Governance, Risk & Compliance software

Leusden, 8 September 2026 – Software providers Naris and Sensus Process Management are joining forces. By combining their expertise, Governance, Risk & Compliance solutions and process management can be brought together in a single platform, meeting a growing need among organisations for a more integrated approach to control and compliance. The move marks the next step in Naris’ growth as it seeks to maintain its leading position in the Netherlands and expand across Europe.
Naris specialises in Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) software and services. Sensus specialises in Business Process Management and is the provider of Sensus BPM Online. By bringing the two companies together, customers will gain access to risk management, controls and processes within a single platform. Together, Naris and Sensus are building the next generation of GRC, connecting Governance, Risk, Compliance, Processes and Data so they can be managed as an integrated whole.
A natural next step for modern GRC
Public and semi-public organisations are under increasing pressure to demonstrate that they are in control. New laws and regulations, digital resilience, data governance, ESG reporting and Third-Party Risk are changing the way organisations need to operate. Private-sector organisations, and municipalities, housing associations, healthcare providers and educational institutions in particular, are having to comply with a growing number of regulatory and compliance frameworks. The focus is no longer solely on which risks an organisation has identified. Organisations also need to demonstrate how their processes and controls work in practice. Being able to show how these elements fit together is becoming crucial for providing assurance. As a result, organisations increasingly need a single environment that brings risks, controls and processes together.
One integrated vision: Run it, Govern it, Prove it
Naris and Sensus complement each other in both functionality and their market and customer focus. Sensus specialises in mapping and visualising processes in a way that enables employees across an organisation to understand them, use them and embed them in their day-to-day work. This addresses a common challenge in GRC: systems are often maintained by a small group of specialists rather than used as part of everyday operations. Combined with Naris’ risk, control and compliance functionality, based on the Three Lines Model, customers will be able to link a risk directly to the process in which it arises and assign a control to the specific process step where it applies.
More possibilities for customers
Naris customers currently manage their risks, compliance obligations, audits and controls in NARIS-GRC®. They will also gain access to Sensus’ process architecture, process modelling and continuous process improvement capabilities. This will make it easier to demonstrate effective control, speed up audits and strengthen accountability to management, supervisory bodies and auditors. Sensus customers will be able to go beyond designing and improving their processes by connecting them with risk management, internal controls, compliance, information security and audit. This embeds control into day-to-day operations rather than organising it around processes afterwards. In the words of both teams: run it, govern it, prove it.
Erik van Marle, CEO of Naris, says: “Our customers have been asking for this for some time. They want their risks, controls and processes in one place, without having to work with several different providers. Sensus has built something that would have taken us a long time to develop ourselves: a way to model and visualise processes that people actually use. That is exactly what GRC needs, because the value of any framework ultimately depends on whether people across the organisation actually work with it. Our ambition is to become a leading European provider of modern GRC.”
Remco Mulder, Managing Director of Sensus, says:“We’re excited to be joining forces with Naris. For years, our customers have been asking us how far process management can extend into risk and control. Together, we can now offer a much more comprehensive approach.
Our existing customers will be able to get more from what they already use, while together we can offer new customers something neither of us could have delivered on our own.”
